I was talkin to some people the other day and they brought it up that if you street race in cali and get caught then the cops will have your car crushed. I live in MO. Is this true??

Ive heard of it happeneing here but never heard from a direct source. I never really looked into it the much either cause I dont street race anymore. Wouldnt suprise me at all though, not with all the dragnets and so on going on over here.

The cops can not legally have your car crushed for street racing. They may be able to impound it temp.........but they cant destroy it.

Actually it will most likely be auctioned off, but before that it will "pass through a numbe4r of hands" and end up at the autcion without wheels, motor, and such accesories, at which point if you wanted to bad enough you could buy it back at a police auction.

I think Mario is right...doesn't make sense for them to crush it if they can't make money off it. I've been told they'll impound you, charge you with all the moving violation goodies, plus charge you the storage fees for your car. Not worth it for ten seconds of pride, IYAM.
