Default can't decide...

I'm currently saveing up money for either an engineswap or turbobut can't decide.

I'm not looking for crazy power, somewhere around 160-180whp. This is my target cause it will still be a good daily driver, within my budget, and I wouldn't have to upgrade the internals substantially I think (gonna try to do most the work myself... eh).

I was originally saveing up for a gsr swap, but the genereal cost is around $4000-5000 dollars for complete being 98+ obd2 with LSD and tranny. It will take me awhile to get that kind of dough plus extra to borrow supplies to put it in etc. But I would do it, because I really like the engine. Plus I could turbo it or just do a mild build down the road, and it's a really good platform to work with.

Turbo my D16would be a little less expensive, nothing too big I'd prolly run around 8 psi to be safe. And run on stock internals or maybe a mild build. The thing I'm worried about is blowing my engine.... I know, thats part of the whole culture of it "run it till it blows" and if it's tuned right, no worries. But it happens and I like to take care of my car [&:]. One thought i had was to buy another d16y8 do a mild build or leave it stock, then swap and do the same to the old one that way if something happens I would have a back up.

Ultimatelymy goal isa sporty ride with enough pep to turn some heads, and be able to outrun some cars now and then when I'm in the mood . I think I'll be happy either way swap or turbo. At this time with my knowledge and resources a swap would be easier cause mygirlfriends sisters dad owns a shop and can lend me an engine hoist, or I might do it at his shop (he use to race cars). It's not important for me to have the fastest car on the road just looking for something a little funner, and a good daily driver..... plus within my price range so far got $1600 saved up, but willing to wait untill I've reached desired amount [8D].

(Yes I have researched, and I plan to do more thank you.If youfeel the needto tell me)[8D]

Make sure your D is healthy before you start piecing together a turbo kit.

If it's not... GSR swap.

I was looking at the f20b a little bit, it's only $999 and a 1k extra for trans on hmotorsonline.com. I guess it's pretty much an h22a and the same install, is there anyone on this forum thats done a f20b swap?

The install is a lot more work than a b-series.
