car smoking help
ok so my moms car was smoking from under the hood this morning i was not with her so im asking you if you might now why. she said it started smoking after like 4 miles and she came back home i was sleeping. the coolent was down why wood it be smoking over heating i dont now and she did not look at the temp gauge. please help thanks

white but its coming from the hood. its not coming from the tailpipe i have no smoke coming form the tailpipe. and the car cooled down and my dad took it like 5 miles and no smoke no overheating nothing i dont now whats going on and the car has like 90000 miles can the head gasket go that soon. thanks for your help

Its not likely, but its possible. Go take a look under the hood. See if the radiator cap is still on, if its missing it overheated so much it blew off, and you would see a bunch of white steam. It might have been steam instead of smoke. Did she drive it home?

Yes OK to drive but check coolant before every trip (while the engine is cold) and keep a very close eye on the temperature gauge. If temperature goes up investigate causes of overheating like the thermostat or the fan not working.
Many people simply replace the thermostat in any case of mysterious overheating. I would let it idle for a while and make sure the fan comes on.
