Default changing wheels. would this be a problem?

from stock thats on my civic EX now from 185/65R14 to some 17s 215/45R17
i try this site below to compare the speed.
i won these on ebay and for the price i believe they are nice. i think they are alittle wider so might hurt my turning radios but thats not to big of a deal.....
after i get them ill have to go to the tire shop and price how much some new tires which are correct size... but not sure if i could do any smaller due to not knowing the exact rim size...

these are the only numbers i have been told
Four 17" Chrome Rims with low profile tires

*
17" ALT Chrome Rims in excellent condition, 4 lug universal pattern.
*
215/45ZR17 FULDA CARAT EXTREMO radial tires, Made in Germany. Fairly new condition used for 3000 miles, see attached pic of treads.

17's are not too big. The ideal size tire for civics with 17" rims is a 205/40 R17. The 215/45 is too wide and too tall. (Believe me, I know from experience )

well is it to wide to fit or drive?
cause thats whats already on the wheels.LOL

i was hoping to run them for awhile like a month until i have enough cash saved up for the correct rubber.....

will i run into any problems that way? and if so what?
please id realy like to know before hand..... these tires are suposed to have good tread left on them and only 3K miles on em. would be ashame to trash em so soon!

They will work, but you will rub. I had the same size on my 94 EX and it rubbed like hell. Going down the highway I was ok, but as soon as I went to turn, it was on then. And if I had more than just myself in the car, forget about it...

And it's a shame you're not closer, I could run those on my G , that's the exact size that I'm running now.

just thought about it.... if i do have those bigger rubber what about if i keep the biggens in the rear?
or would that throw off any sensors in the rear by mixing tire sizes?

i go get the rims tomorow i figure ill get them, stop by a tire shop on the way back and pick up some lugs.. tho not sure if they have to be special lugs or not... but i would like some locking ones...

You wanna keep the same size all the way around...you won't throw off any sensors or anything, but it won't look right...plus you lose the ability to rotate your tires if you do that.

well not gonna keep it that way... more of a slowly replacing tires so i can replace the front ones which should be my speedo and turning so no rubbing... then when i get enough cash that i go ahead and do the other 2.

so ya think i should get some

205/40 R17

also whats a good brand or model to use?
i dont plan on running them in the snow but i see my fair share of rain.. and i also want them to be more quite!

the tires that are on these right now seem to be preaty loud! sometimes im not sure if its rubbing or if its just the tires being loud! only happens when im braking that i get a loud noise.. but its just to loud for rollen....

i need to find some right size wheels and some that wont be so loud but with good traction in wet weather....
i dont care about racing or any of that big stuff... just a good dailing tire....
