Check Engine light

RE: Check Engine light

Sometimes aftermarket parts are going to trigger the check engine light no matter what you do. If you just want to get rid of the light, try holding the trip button with the key in the ignition, turn the key forward once, hold for 10 seconds, turn it off. repeat 1x. That worked for me.

what aftermarket parts did that work for? That sounds just like resetting the ECU

RE: Check Engine light
I don't have any aftermarket parts on mine, I was just saying that if the light is on and you know why, and you just want it to go away, that trick works. I just got my inspection done about 15 minutes ago and I passed using that trick, but they wouldn't pass me before because the light was on. When mine came on, it was because Honda wants you to get a tuneup every 6k miles, so the light will come on every 6k miles and will not turn off until you get it looked at by a dealership. Very annoying IMO.
