Got totalled on the highway yesterday. I was braking because the turning lane was backed up on the highway and i came to a complete stop a few feet behind the car ahead of me. Then I was rear-ended by a car who was rear-ended by a truck which pushed me into the car ahead of mine. So they ****ed me over and said I was following too close even though I wouldn't have rear-ended the guy in front of me if I wasnt hit so hard. My hatch is crushed up to my back seats basically and the intercooler is smashed. The turbo/engine doesn't appear to be touched, just a pushed back rad. The car is deffinetely a write-off, depending on how much im offered for the car by insurance I will either keep it and drop my built engine in another civic or sell it to them and buy my friends s14 240sx with a rb20det dropped in it.
Sucks because I forgot to get my car appraised because I was waiting for a paint job, i still have over $5000 worth of receipts and a $5500 bill of sale. Do you think the insurance guy will include any of this when he makes me an offer? I have over $3000 machine shop bill and $1000 receipt for my wheels, if they offer me the blackbook value i will have to keep the car and swap the engine to a new body. Hopefully my rims aren't bent, I think my Tein coilovers are ****ed tho.

 

ouch dude that ****ing sucks! i hate to say this but any of the turbo parts you want to sell o.o like, fuel pump or something if salvageable.

The insurance is going to hurt you, it would be best to buy the car back and strip it and resell anything you can to make some money back.
