Default Civic Si type R

Hey yer, howdy. Anyone know weather the Civic si type R will make it to USA as a 2008?
I have seen a few spy shots from Japanese sites but I can't get a my locale dealer to take my deposit for the type R.

No they wont. reason being is we have the Si and if they brought in the Type R they would have no use for the Si, and since it is such a good seller, and the unknown sales of the Type R probably would prevent the from bringing it in the future

^ well again they might have 2 versions for example the canada honda civic si is different from the american si. i think one has the b16 engine in it and the has the d16y8 ( please correct me if im wrong). so what they could do is redesign the american Si and by redesign i mean for 2008-2009+ they could put the type R parts and engine in the si and just call it the si..

( Just an idea im only goin by what i been reading latly )

Uhmmmm.... both BMW and Porsche bring in high performance versions of their already top performing cars. With BMW's M power and Porsches RUF series. The type R would have to sell for at least the mid 20's which would set it aside from Si stickers. The higher price would weed out the pretenders and keep the exclusivity high...eh er, well.

well they could just price the type R at a higher price too bad the type R doesnt come turbo charge. If it did than i would of said just price the type R in the same class as the Evo and Wrx

This information WAS true, but not anymore technically, the 96-00 US Ex is our Si, and the Us Si is our SiR, same goes for the 2002-2005, but the new 06+ is the same for both US and Canada.
