sorry im not that familiar with hondas, is the SI DOHC?

 

Sis are the worst in gas mileage because they are made to perform better, so they use a little more gas than the others.

 

imo 92-95 VX hatch. would be your best bet, or a 96-00 Hx

 

my 99 DX went from here to Chicago and a little ways back (about 9 hours) on one tank of gas, thats pretty impressive, just gotta keep the tire pressure up and make sure you dont got the CEL. All Civics are good, but the DX and HX are the best of the best

 

I know, im just trying to compare them to my current car to see which i want.
Im kind of torn between the 2 opposites, i either want a car that gets good MPG and is fun to drive (the SI), or a car that gets great MPG and will use for long cruises (DX, i love going for long cruises for no reason :P). So im still weighing my options, but i gotta get a new car soon.

 

does this sound like a good deal?

please note again that in the 6th generation (1996-2000) the Civic HX looks the same as the DX/EX/LX, but only came in the coupe body style.

Also, I assume you're in canada.

But in my area of the states, a 98 DX Coupe should go for around $5000 (USD) in great condition

 

i got my 99 DX two years ago for $4500, and its almost the exact same thing as that as far as miles/tranny/engine/trim goes (except it didnt have a CD player). I think you could definitely find a better deal than that

althoguh i know there is a big demand for 6th gen Civics, i dont think it would hvae gone up THAT much in the last two yeasr (since i've bought mine)
