Clutch replacement options for 93 Si
Hi guys,
Just some questions regarding clutch replacement...
a. Is it better to stick with OEM, or go with aftermarket kits... and if so, what would you recommend?
b. What are the differences between Stage 1/2/3 kits?
Thanks for your help!

A. hard to answer. Do you have a stock car, or one with aftermarket mods on (simple bolt on such as i/h/e would be fine for an OEM clutch)? Do you use this to just commute, have fun in, or both?
B. Differences between 1/2/3/4/5/6 etc is the amount of HP/torq. each one can handle. the higher the stage, the more HP /tq. it can handle.
If you wanted to have some more fun with the car, I would recommend a stage one (not a no-name ebay clutch), and something like a 9.5 lb. chromoly flywheel. If you don't care about that stuff, then go for the OEM.
Remember, OEM clutches are meant to last, performance clutches are meant to hold and not slip under pressure and all that good stuff.

CVCRCR99,
Thanks for the informed answer. I'm much more aggressive than the average driver, but not overly hard on my car. The clutch on my 93 Civic isn't as grippy as it used to be. I really liked the feel of my 2000 Integra (unfortunately had to sell that one), the stock clutch was very responsive. Nothing irritates me more than a soft, sloppy clutch, the kind you might find if you were to drive a POS Sunfire. All I am looking for is quality, and excellent response. Not looking to drag race the car or anything Would you go aftermarket if you had to replace the clutch, or stick to OEM? Any kit recommendations? Thanks once again.
