i guess theres a chip in the distributor thats burned that comes out easily do u no ne thing about that?
cuz they lost me

ima call it a night i guess ill jus drop at the wreck yard tomarrow n get a distributor thanks for the help tho n ill up date u on my EF swap with d16y8 swap im sure ill need your help night night

i think the burned up part you are referring to is the ignition coil. it can be easily removed and replaced.

you're gonna want to run your D16Y8 on an OBD1 ECU (P28). all you need to do to do that is get an ECU wiring conversion harness. Before you can buy that though, you'll need to know which engine harness you'll be using.

the d16y8 swaps gunna go on my 91 hatch ima use the same harness from the ek straight to the ef

do u think the ignition coils bad tho on the Eg what do u think is wrong maybe there trippn

if they're not getting spark and they're sure it's the dizzy then it's probably the coil.


if you're gonna use the Y8 engine harness, I think you'll want this and an OBD1 P28 ECU for manual transmission.

The main reason for doing this is because OBD1 is less work (less sensors to hook up, less stuff can make it throw a CEL) and the P28 will run a D16Y8 just fine.

long process with the harness in the 99 i see lol
...i dont wanna break my back lookn for a y6 harness i think ill jus do the conversion haha

for the Eg tho yea its not graving spark so its probably the coil that got fryd to haha
i guess ill change that do u have a format i could use one if not i should be fine
