I like your method of breaking it down for ease of reading for the homies. I think i'l follow suit.
1) I'm talking about the K series engine, the first ever engine to have varible valve ccontrol.
"A later head design also incorporated a Rover-designed Variable Valve Control (VVC) unit (derived from an expired AP patent). This allowed more power to be developed without compromising low-speed torque and flexibility. The VVC system constantly alters the cam period, resulting in a remarkably flexible drive - the torque curve of a VVC K-series engine is virtually flat throughout the rev range and power climbs steadily with no fall-off whatsoever until the rev limiter kicks in at 7,200 rpm."

2) I'm not talking about the new K20 engines or what ever they're called. I'm talking about the whole vtec principle. The engine is developed using the Kseries engine as a base.
3) The only rover engines that are Kseries are the DOHC 16V ones.
Say what you want you dirty japistanies but the engines you all know and love were not developed from F1, the were developed from the ford owned rover engines!!

2) honda's VTEC system was released in 1988, and to the US in 1991 (first US car being the NSX)
rover's vvc was only introduced in their 1.8L models, which weren't released until the mid part of the 1990's, and was not a feature of the original K moniker motors.
3) the K in rover's naming system refers to the head and number of valves. as such a K16 = DOHC 16 valves, K8 = SOHC 8 valves, either way, not all K series engines are DOHC. ALL VVC K series engines are DOHC though.
4) wikipedia is not the all knowing source of information people think it is

RE: did honda copy rover???
i guess 1bar will never get to 2bars... LOL.
btw, i've saw an NSX terrorizing the highway outside of Orlando a while back.
that dood was HAULINGASS trying to get home with a UPS box or something in the passenger seat. that was the only thing else he could fit in there beside himself... lol.

I mean, obviously, if Rover didn't release their VVC system until the middle of the 1990's (1994 or 1995, I forget), but Honda released their VTEC system in the end of the 1980's, how could Honda have copied Rover? Unless they travelled forward in the future to steal their technology?
And like I said, if anything, Honda improved upon a concept introduced by Fiat in the 1960's.
