Default Differences between the EX and LX engines?

I tried to find this information on my own but what I found did not match up with what I have been told. The site I found comparing the engines in the 99 EX and LX showed them as being the same. Both 1.6L, same HP, etc. So anyway...I'm looking at a 99 LX and wondering if it's the same engine as the EX or not and what the differences are if it isn't.
