Which do you people think will be faster, ive priced up both as about equal in cost, so its down to you guys to help me finish deciding on whether i should go for the H22A conversion or turbo my existing B16A2. I drive a B16A2 Civic EG6 VTi (UK equivalent of the Si), completely standardat the moment. Here is what ive researched so far

H22A:
more torque than a B16 turbo
far more reliable than a B16 turbo
smoother power band
(I know about possible handling issues, i think i have that under control with my existing upgraded shocks and springs)
(An H2B would be on the cards eventually, but not for a long time, so i would have to use the H22A transmission for now)


B16 turbo:
nominallymore power than an H22A
considerably more tuning potential in the future
slightly lighter than an H22A

which do you people feelwill befaster in a street situation, id like to know as some of you would have personal experience with either or both?

 

B16 Turbo Vs stock H22a would be close but when it comes to top end the B16 Turbo would start to pull away but not alot. I would go with the H22a and then eventually do a turbo project or all motor build etc. and have more power than what a B16 turbo would have. Thats just my opinion though. Actually a buddy and I just did a H22a swap into a 5Gen civic and it basically hauls *** for being basically stock considering the interals are all stock.

 

i'd go H22 all day. The b16a2 swap is super overrated, and the H seriously isnt much heavier.

 

the H22A even in a mildly NA tuned state would be quite reliable as a daily driver if properly and regularly serviced, it would need to be a reliable daily driver.

What exactly do i need for an H22A EG6 conversion,mention any missing bits for me:

Hybrid engine mounts / rear bracket
H22A gearbox/ecu/engine/intake manifold/exhaust manifold/throttle body/transmission/drive shafts/radiator/hosing(id get a full conversion package from ebay)
Conversion wiring harness
decat(or racing cat)/catback

am i missing anything, and how easy was it to do the conversion on a 5th gen egcivic?

 

imo keep your b tranny and get the adapter....H2B FTMFW.
