Default does this really work?

i had my car tuned a while back and got it to where it was a shift light, so normally its off when i drive around town. but now it likes to come on randomly, sometimes when it sits at idle for 10 seconds or when i take off from a stop light. normally when it comes on im able to turn the car off, turn it back on and its gone but here recently it came on and wont go off. everything runs fine and perfect but its still kinda sketchy. if anyone has an idea to what this may be feel free to share.

i know you can check the codes but idk how and i came across this article. has anyone on here tried this with paper clips?

Honda and Acura OBD1 Trouble codes. How to read check engine light codes and what they mean.

It works on a stock OBD1 ECU of course but I don't know about chipped ones. You'd have to look at the instructions for your particular chip.
