Default Engine build help*** please please help

I want to buy a new engine for my 95 Civic EX. It has a D16Y8 right now and I want something that I can do good internals on and then eventually add a turbo.. this is what I was thinking... either get another D16 and do that or go with an LS block with a B18 or B16 head.. i would go with the LS with the B head but I am really really worried about theft issues... well point is.... what would be the best bet?? someone please help

You cannot switch the heads from a b series engine into a d series.

I don't think that is what he meant. First off d16racer, do your research. There are HUGE differences between a boosted d and an ls/vtec engine. If youre lookin for horsepower, boost a d. Theyre pretty cheap with a lot of aftermarket support. To have a reliable ls/vtec or b20/vtec, then it will require a lot of money to do it right. Everyone here will tell you to do it right the first time. I wanted to swap but when it came down to it, even though the d won't have the torque, the money you'd put into a d to boost it is a lot cheaper than a reliable swap. If you want a good swap, b18c1 or c5 (if you have the money) or a k series if you have the money. That's just my two cents.
