Yup. Then its not an EX either.

However, most Civics in the US came from Canada

But why would somebody swap a Y8 for a Y7?

Maybe it was wrecked, and the owner didnt report it. If I was front end damage then there is a chance the motor would have been swapped (if the motor to was damaged) And so the y7 was cheaper so they slapped that in there and sold it, whoever bought it after them diditn really know what to look for. But like i said that could all just be a chance.

or the current engine could have gone the way of old yeller and the other owner slapped a y7 in its place.

If that car doesn't have the right engine ,take it back to the dealer. They can not sell a misrepresented car. He will have to make good on it either with a proper engine or money-back or another car.
