RE: Fastest N/A Civic?
If you are asking me if vtech makes me mad, it doesnt. As for seeing under the hood, I did, at a local car show at the local dragway this past weekend, and it really wasn't anyhing special, just a swap, and it looked like **** too.

RE: Fastest N/A Civic?
to my knowlage, the fastest N/A CIVIC runs 11.4 @ 121. its an H22 with a 2600cc (thats a ton if you didnt know) of displacement, the compression ratio is estimated at 16:1 (yeah...that much), the crank is 4340 billet steel (4340 is a tough high-nickel chrome-moly alloy...about 2-2.5 time stronger than the stock crank) crank, the rods are made out of the same stuff and shot peened. very straightforeward head...ported, valve job, racing cams, and aftermarket ignition. 4-1 header...not sure about the rest tho.
oh btw...its R&D racing's car...thats how it can be designed and built so well
now theres an N/A CRX that runs faster, i believe its record is 10.95 @ 125. im not sure the details...all i know is that its made by AEBS...which is bound to make it bulletproof (they were the ones...we're guessing...who made those 60 psi sleeves)
yeah...i'll look up on the AEBS CRX...hope this helped
oh btw...the cars are completely stripped and have ultra light aluminium frames (at least i think thats what theyre made out of)
EDIT: *gasp* Stealth_Guy said VTECH!!!!! [:-][:-][:-]

RE: Fastest N/A Civic?
you guys are harsh :P
ok heres some info on that AEBS CRX: b18c engine, the patented AEBS spun cast iron sleeves (in other words...these suckers are bulletproof). 2100cc's, 4340 billet stroker crank, cunningham titanium connecting rods, 13.5 compression ratio, ported head and valve jobs, AEBS camshafts (343 degrees, .500" of lift), a custom intake manifold, 300cc injectors, AEBS header and exhuast. oh yeah...its a really light car.
heres the numbers on the AEBS CRX. 260 HP to the ground (all motor...remember) at 9000rpm, powerband is almost flat across to 10,000, 166 lbs-ft at 7200.
the R&D Civic engine is short from the CRX in power by about 2-5 horses, but topps it in torque at almost 20 lbs-ft. the AEBS also doesnt get any decent power untill about 6500 rpm, about 2000 after the civic.

RE: Fastest N/A Civic?
Glad to see that I got you guys all fired up, over my misuse of V-TECH (there, is that better) Anyways, I'm not a newbie to cars, but, I'm not really all that up to date on what Hondas are doing, as, I just tend to stay away from them, no offense to the people that build with pure performance in mind, but when most people think of mods to a civic, they think oh, eurolights or stickers, or at least thats the way it seems to be here.
