it doesn't matter what engine you have... just pay the extra 30 dollars and get the synthetic.... i use synthetic on all my cars and never go past 3000k miles... its just better for the engine plain and simple...
6 courts of oil is like 40 dollars man comon don't be cheap just buy it and change yourself

if you run synthetic, you don't need to do an oil change but every 7500-10k miles. You can probably go longer, but anything shorter than that and you're wasting money.
Also buy yourself a good oil filter and keep up with the engine/system cleaners. I use lucas oil treatment(goes in gas tank. Stay away from the oil additives)

^ +1. The biggest difference with synthetic/conventional is change intervals. To be safe, I always change my oil every 5k when using synthetic (with an extended life filter). At 100k miles, I'd say change the oil at least every 5k miles, even when using synthetic.

3000 miles for synthetic is ridiculous. You should be changing it at 5-6k miles.
why do you need 6 quarts of oil? the engine uses a little under 4. I always just put in 4 quarts though.
but yea, synthetic oil is the way to go
