Finally removing duals - Pictures!

RE: Finally removing duals
well i think if you had big piping on the duals then there would be a noticable loss of backpressure, and a loss of velocity, and a loss in torque ya know? So not only do i think the removal of the duals is good for looks, its also good for your torque. If backpressure didnt apply to Hondas, why would Sacicons have made it a sticky in the Header, Intake, Exhaust section? And isnt loss of backpressure/velocity the whole reason duals make you lose torque?
Again, good luck though!

RE: Finally removing duals
Sac knows what the hell he's talking about. That's all I have to say.
Regardless of these backpressure arguments, it is better for your Civic, reaper, to not have all that extra big assed pipe on there. Replace it with 2.25in., 2.5in., or 60mm mandral bent piping. You will not regret it and your car won't hate you anymore for making it a ricer! j/k.

At any rate, the duals are off as of yesterday (I'm at school right now, so I can't post pics)... I'll have before/after pics up later today. Unfortunately, removing the y-pipe shortened it just a little too much. The muffler's now tucked behind the back bumper slightly, but it still looks better than duals. At least I can rock this exhaust until I can afford a custom cat-back (I'm probably going with 2.5" tubing; I want to get a B16 and eventually turbo that, so I think the 2.5" will do) without feeling embarrassed.
Things I still need for the cat-back:
1) OEM rear bumper: I had to do some trimming to get the stock bumper to fit the duals. When I get the pics up, you'll know what I mean
2) lip kit: I don't want to have the exhaust system run and then have to modify it so it doesn't touch the lip.
3) Resonator: I don't like the weedwacker-on-steroids exhaust tone

RE: Finally removing duals
I'll get some more pics up either tomorrow or sunday.
And the tone's a lot deeper and throatier... it's still a little raspy at the higher rpm's, but that'll get cleared up when I get the cat-back run (with a Magnaflow resonator). I'll get some sound clips up on youtube or something and get you guys a link.
