Default front end difference?

Ok this may sound stupid but i got a 98 civic and i was just wondering whats the difference between 96-98 style compared to the 99-00 style? If I wanted to would a 99 bumper and grille fit on my 98 civic? or would i have to do a hole front end conversion?

Thanks!

The 96-98 front end is boxier and the headlights have a distinct bulge on the turn signal portion. The grille is smaller and everything seems more square about it. The 99-00 is more sleek (doubtful if it actually has aerodynamic benefits) with more sharply raked headlights and a much larger grille opening

you'd need new headlights to go with the front. The back is completely compatible, the only thing different is the bumper, which will fit on a 96-98 (i have a 99 rear bumper on my 96)

^ yup. No need to change trunklids, though you could just swap the taillights
