gas mileage

Default gas mileage

i have a 1998 civic ex with a sri and an axel back exhaust. arent these cars suppose to get like 30 to 35 mpg because im getting about 25 give or take a few. and im not driving like a bat out of hell, im just driving like an everyday ordinary person. would there be a cause to why i get ****ty gas mileage?

Is the CEL ON? When was the last basic tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor)?

the cel is not on. the plugs and wires are farely new. idk about the cap or rotor.

Check those and the ignition timing with a timing gun.

Yea you should be getting better gas mileage than that.

I have a 97 supercharger ex and I got an average of 32.6 mpg averaged out of 25 fill ups (I didn't it for a prob and stats class) That was with drag racing it, street racing, and autocrossing at least 5 of those fill ups. The worst I got was 26.2 and the best was like 36
