good buy ???
alright ive been searching for a civic for a while. i finally found one but not sure if its worth the buy. a 1997 hatch dx. it has a 1.6L some damage inside and exterior and skirts are missing. they want 1500 for it ? good buy ? im new to this so help me plz lol

That really depends on what "powerful enough" is for you. The most accurate metric would be an hp goal or a 1/4 mile run time goal. Even if you could specify a 0-60 goal or another car (make/model/trim) as a point of comparison.

well assuming that your car is the sixth gen. hatch back than it probably has a B16b-vtec type Rengine in it which for a civic is a really good start when trying to soop it up. It is much easier than anyD series engine. If the engine has over 150K than I would rethink it but it definetly has a good size engine to start messing with.

Try to get some more info on the mileage, maintenance records, and make sure to test drive it and have a mechanic look at it. We really can't tell you if the car is a good buy without seeing pictures and having some more info on it. The price seems resonable to me, but they could be hiding something, you never know.
