h22 swap

RE: h22 swap
Yea it must just be 6th gens because I have looked into this swap at one point but I guess you can't in a 5th gen. You really don't need p/s steering in a civic though so that isn't a big deal.

RE: h22 swap
yeah, i don't have powersteering, not really necessary if you're fairly strong.
but refering back to the p/s a/c question, they can be customized to fit in ek frames with a HCP mount for the a/c and modifying of the p/s pump and you have to notch the core support for it to fit correctly. all you have to do is move the fan to the inside of the core support and rewire it so it will push the air, not pull.
as for an eg, this might help http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1998336

yeah, even without p/s, you can turn the wheel with one hand with little effort after about 5mph, and how often are you driving <5 mph?
Anyway, civroman, I can promise you it'll be worth it... 200hp and 160 ft/lbs at the crank? That's a lot in a honda (that'll be what, like 175-185 hp at the wheels?).

^ Not really sure why I was thinking it was higher.
FF's only put about 80% of their power to the ground I believe, so ej6 is right, it'd be something like 160, 165 to the ground. But still, compare that to a d16z6's whopping 100whp (that's an estimate), and it's a world of difference.

RE: h22 swap
Okay, I'm going to bump this to correct myself... JDM**** has some good info on h22 swaps in EG/EK's... all organized in a nice little table, along with pics of the finished swap. Anyway, apparently you can keep the p/s (first time I ever heard anything about it), and you can also keep the a/c in an EG chassis (though it involves a custom bracket).
Anyway, here's the link. The table's at the bottom after the pictures.

RE: h22 swap
if you haven't already you will need the ecu. the egr valve you gotta make sure that your getting one or at least your ex has one, unless your cel will keep coming on. your slave cylinder will have to have a custom bracket because it will hit the rad fan. you should get a dual rad and aslim fan.
let me know if you need any info. its a big motor, it squeezes in nice.
