I stand corrected

And Stu, I already pointed out that the d16 will be cheaper than the h22.

And Method, trust me... I wish I still had the civic... with the money I spend buying the mustang and modifying it, I could have thrown an h22 in my civic, swapped to a 5-speed, thrown ITBs on it, cams, header, and exhaust.

I have a guy that wants to sell me an H22a out of a prelude. It had about 35K when he put it in his car and only put about 5K on it. The tranny misses 2nd when you speed shift. He is asking 1100 for it but also has a t3-t4 turbocharger, tail 38mm wastgate, turbo-x blowoff, intercooler, protect boost controller for an extra 600. Would this be worth rebuilding the tranny and then sleving and boosting the motor?

I would still have to get the motor mounts another $400 but I would still be well below 3000g for the setup. doesnt seem to bad, does it.

I'd pass on the turbo setup (if he only wants $600 for all that, I doubt the turbo is any good), but I'd ****** the h22a up; $1100 is a steal.

now how do i know if it has everything or at least everything for that price. Like would my wiring harness work even after alittle work or are there any other little things that I should know. And how bout the tranny he said it doesnt like 2nd gear when speed shifting, if im getting a good deal is it worth it to rebuild or fix whatever it may be. and how much could that cost.

We can't tell you because we don't know the condition of the motor or anything either. It could need anything from a good fluid change to a whole rebuild. As for a H22 swap, you need to google because it has been covered 1,000's of times. Start with honda-t3ch as a start for DIYs.

Ej, Honda-Tech isn't censored anymore

And yeah, we really can't tell you if the engine's in good condition or not just from reading about it on a forum. For the swap, it's been covered in-depth at Honda-Tech, and we have quite a few threads with very good information right here at HCF.
