yes if you drove thru a deep puddle and the filter was droped into it fully yes it would hydroloc the motor UNLESS you instal a AEM bypass valve for it....
those are realy easy to install simply cut a few inches off your intake tube and put the valve inline at the highest point in your piping.... typicaly right next to the throttle body....
but if your stupid enough to drive your little civic thru deep water..... well i dont feel sorry for you at all for hydrolocing your motor!
if your just driving thru a small puddle or something lame as long as you dont dunk it for a second it should be alright... tho i wouldnt guarantee that.LOL

well forced or not id rather be rear ended then to kill my motor and car.... next time hit the brakes... remember if they hit you from the rear its there fault! id rather get the car wrecked from some idiot following to close and have there insurance or your insurance if uninsured driver pay for the damage, rather than just you hit with the cost for a new motor.
but thats just my opinion...

I'm pretty sure in most states, and I know for a fact in FL, that if you get rear-ended it's automatically their fault.
I've been to St. Pete Beach, I know exactly what you mean.
