Header Gasket Problems

RE: Header Gasket Problems
head gasket?
if you meant header gasket, when its blown its got a really raspy tone, and most of the sound comes from under the hood rather than the muffler. also there seems to be possibly a power loss (it might have been in my head) and when the gasket is replaced the car seems to have more pep.

That"s funny. I have been misreading that you guys" head gaskets were blowing. I was wondering why you seemed so casual about what was such a serious engine problem! Boy, I have to be more careful reading threads.

RE: Header Gasket Problems
midway gasket huh? alright good. ive been wondering for quite a while what the proper term for it is. ive always had to call it the header gasket between the 2-piece flange. lol.
im not sure what i have. i bought it at auto zone. it came in a big sheet and didnt really have much labeling on it. the part of the shrink wrap that had the label on it is gone.
