Default Hello, from Bend, Oregon

Hello to all.

Let me tell you a story.

I'm not a Honda owner and probably never will be, but I am a mechanic and I occasionally work on them. Most recently I swapped in a junk yard engine into a guys 2005 Civic Coupe. Non VTEC engine. He lost all coolant and cooked the engine.

The JY engine came with just about everything so the one I took out has just about everything. All of the sensors are there, the head, the block, internals, everything.

My problem is do I send it back for the $100 core, or is there enough here to sell parts and pieces from, or even rebuild and sell complete? I am thinking that since this isn't a VTEC, it may not be worth very much even rebuilt, but I really don't have a base of knowledge to know.

Heck, if someone were to come by my house and give me $75 and a six pack of beer, I'd help them load it.

I won't part this out. I'm only going to either send it back for the core, or sell it complete either rebuilt or not.

Is it worth anything?

BTW, during my search on how best to pull the engine, I came across three methods on removal; out the bottom, pull the trans, then the engine, tilt it at a 30 degree angle and pull it.

I found that by pulling the harmonic ballancer, there was about half an inch of room to pull it all straight up and out. (That's my attempt to contribute here rather than just take up your time trying to unload this lump.)

OK. I just wanted to be sure if there is any value in any of the peripherals like sensors and actuators and what not. I'll load it on the pallet and send it back for the core. Thank you for the advice.
