hid conversion kits

Default hid conversion kits

hey all, what is your take on hid conversion kitsi really want to get one but am not sure which colour is legal? if i get the 12000k will i get pulled over? my friend got 10000k from this place and got pulled over by a dumb cop, he let em go when he showed him the kit was dot certified, i think he said he aimed them wrong. just wonderin if i will get in trouble for the 12000k purple lights in socal?

Dude, So Cal is cop crazy. I wouldn't recommend you have the 12k's. I've only seen 2 cars with the 12k's and i've been living in So Cal my entire life. A Scion TC on the 22 fwy, and a Evo on the streets. They're bright, but not too great. If i were you i would go with the 6k's or 7k's. I have the 6k's installed on my car with projectors. It's great because the projectors don't blind oncoming traffic, because they cut off at the middle. (:

dito.... 12K hids will get ya pulled over PREATY QUICKLY anywhere!


4K hids are close to most stock looks, but alittle to yellow for me personaly...
and personaly i like 6-8K hids 6s are mostly white with a hint of blue, and 8Ks are more blue but still bright.... any higher in temps and the light OUTPUT suffers and also draws more cops attention!


BUT on a side note.... unless the car was MADE with HIDs OEM i dont see them being truly DOT certified!

HID are not legal on a vehicle that did not come stock with them. but i have mine that i am doing a full retro that they will look stock and a dumb cop will let me go lol!!![8D]

i would say 6k-8k you will be fine. the 7ks are just about perfect. Just remember you get what you pay
