Default HID's

I have an 08 EX-L Navi Sedan and I wanted to install HID's. I took it to a local place and had the guy look at it and he said it takes MAXX 6000k 9006.

Is this a quality kit?

Is there a kit that is cheaper but about the same quality(assuming this is a good one)?

Where can I buy this kit or another kit you recommend for a good price?

He is also going to install a Prestige remote start with a compustart bypass system to aviod having to use the valet key. Is this a good system?

All together he said $699. I know this is high but I do not know my elbow from my knee when it comes to cars. I am going to try to find the best price I can on the internet and then see how much he is really charging for labor.

If you see them for cheap please post a link.

Thank you for helping me out

~Nick

at that price you can get a pretty good quality paging and remote start alarm system. as for hid the shop would probably rob your money. IMO... all plug and play HID's perform almost the same.

Can you provide a link to the HID's you have in mind?

I am trying to get this straight in my head and I am getting confused sifting through threads with multiple products mentioned.

What alarm systems do you recommend?

I had an alarm/remote start (audiovox) on my last civic and I was going to decide to just get the remote start this time.

Don't buy plug and play HID's, like previously mentioned they're all about the same -- lame. You probably won't be able to see as well as you did with the stock halogens. If you want HIDs, you really need to change the whole headlight system over to something that is fully designed for HID instead of just putting a bulb in.

Thats to see super clear, but plug and play is a lot brighter than stock. (you will just blind a couple of oncoming cars)

an hid kit should not cost ur more than $120 single beam kit. i didnt know smack about anythi ng and i installed my hids, its pretty much plug and play. the hardest part would be mounting the ballast and even that is easy with some zipties or double sided tape. as for the prestige system i have the same one and its decent. i pad $325 for it installed with remote start, lcd pager and backup slave, etc. imo hes overcharging you, most shops will

You definitely want to go with the full HID kit with ballast and all, the bulbs just don't shine nearly the same as the real thing. Do a google search for some good kits, as for as the prestige alarm, I have prestige and it works fine. I've only had trouble with the actual door unlocking hardware, but not the system itself.
