Default Hood lever, questions.

ok so I was checking out the car I'm buying, and the plastic lever that you pull up on to pop the hood (from the inside) is broken off. If I remember right there was a screw that you can unscrew and take off/put on a new one, pretty painless, but I was wondering where I may find one, and how much? thank you guys. If I'm lucky they'll round one up somewhere (I work at carmax) and put it in for me for nothing.

You'd be suprised at what you can find at an autowrecker. You'd also be suprised at the price you pay as well. I love autowreckers

They just have to have the right kind of car...

The handle/cable assembly is less than $20 dealer list. Looks quite easy to install; there are two M6 bolts holding the handle part, then you have to route the cable up to the latch on the hood. I wouldn't mess with a used one, could be rusted up and about to break anyway.
