95 civic Chaning Gear ratio?

Default 95 civic Changing Gear ratio?

Hey guys i have a 1995 Civic ex manual. I was wondering through mods or engine swap if i increase horsepower i would then want to raise my gear ratio how would i do it? Me and my dad are used to a rear wheel drive and im a new honda fan. please help thank you

The final gears are inside the transaxle case. They were slightly different among the different models. The EX already has a high ratio for better acceleration. The DX and LX had a lower ratio for better highway mpg.

But we were looking at if i were to get an engine swap say b18c. 210HP i believe. would i need to change the gear ratio? (engine just example dont know if it would even fit)
