RE: how hard can i push my civic??
I did some research and found out my gear ratios for each gear. I found a calculator online and did this. here I got the gear ration info off http://www.hondahookup.com/charts/2001_civic_sedan.php so i guess according to this, i havent gone too fast in each gear really at all. It says i can do over 30 in 1st and about 60 in 2nd and well over 80 in 3rd. i would like to believe this is true. do you think i plugged all the info in correctly?

Pick up an EX or Sicluster that will have the tach built in, with redlines stipulated. Easy fix for short money, and no guess work. Take out old cluster, swap speedos, insert new cluster, done. Seriously, it's that simple. Wiring for tach is already there. Don't screw with blowing up your engine unnecessarily. Just did this swap myself. Literally did it during lunch with time to spare.

I imagine you were smelling your clutch because you don't know how to drive. Stop trying to race your econobox civic anyways dude.
And when you hit the redline you will know. The car will run out of power and just run into a wall where you can't go any faster.
