I bought a thermometer for my 06 Civic and today it is 97 outside and the temp inside the car at 3:00 pm is 133 degrees. And that is with a windshield screen also.

Hot, Hot, Hot........

No wonder the A/C takes a while to get the temp down during the summer.

I live in Gilbert, AZ, I don't have a termostat for the inside of my car but outside my car said it was 108*. I got to park in the garage today so inside wasn't very hot. I'm sure if I parked on the driveway it would have been.

 

in Cali its ridiculous, my visor on my 07 split cuz the glue melted. thank god for warranties.

 

I keep a thermometer in my car too. On days when its not even to hot, if you park in the sun, it goes off the thermometer...and I have tinted windows.

 

That is all well and good, except you people are not telling us where the thermometer is mounted. If it is in the sun oron the dash, then yes it will go "off the chart". What is the temp when the probe is placed in a shady spot? Are you leaving the car in the sun with the windows up? Are these temps any different than any other modern car? Is this any different than cars ten or twenty years ago? Just wondering......

I remember an article with pictures in our local paper a while back, that showed someone frying eggs on the sidewalk. Yes, that old sun gets hot.

 

I thought the days of burning your hands on metal interior parts were gone with the GM Ghetto cruisers, but no, today I realized that a black (or very dark grey) interior made entirely of recycled plastic is still very burning hot! At least it cools down faster than the metal does, especially when you got the sunroof open and the window down. Speaking of which, it was so hot out I had to keep my sunroof mostly closed to keep from getting sunburn - with only 15 minutes of driving!

And in the Keys it's only 92F out every day of the year...

When I first moved to AZ we had a day that was 120 outside and we did the egg thing. Took a while to cook but it did cook all the way through.

 

Its 92 in montana...and thats f'in hot for up here man....i like that cold snow ****

haha right in texas is normal up over 100 right about now but because of all the rain, were only toppin out at around 90 so its a really nice summer so far (minus the rain)
