I can't decide if its worth fixing...
My sister has a 99 DXVP 4 door. It had 170K on the engine when we got it. It now has 326K (original auto tranny!), needs rear brakes, needs fenders, a hood, a front and back bumper, a trunk lid, some other little bits of body work, and its burning oil. It's paid off but it's a turd. She's broke as hell and really needs a CRV or something. I hate to see a Civic go but looks like it needs to go. Any words?

No you don't put it into reverse to stop, you down shift haha.
If it is as bad as you say scrap it. I bet you could get 500?? maybe out of it at the scrap yard. Look at parts costs vs getting the same year/model or something newer price wise.
More than likely you can get one just like it with less miles and looks good for a whole lot less than you can fix that one.

scap yard wont give 500 for it, max would be 200, i say drive it til it blows, add oil when it needs it, and brakes are 25 bucks, put them on for her, if she gets an income tax use that $$ to fix it up. most of the work you can do, if not well clean it up a little and sell it for 2k

Ha guys, wish I had pics of the exterior. It's shot. The only thing of value is the center console. Yeah, she has to add oil every other day. And she lives and works at a hippie commune so there's no money from tax returns. There's no money period. We can't really afford to throw parts at it, can't afford to do engine work, and I don't think there are enough usable parts to actually part out. Other than the doors, center console, and maybe the tail lights (which originally came off my Civic), there's not a straight piece on there. It's sad because she needs a car to get from A to B and this is all she can afford.
I really wanna do a ghetto photoshoot like the car is worth showing off just for the lulz.

i would do it.. that would be funny, shine it up and everything hahahaha.... there isnt any welfare programs that will help? around here, they offer 750 dollars to buy a car for low income people, 1300 if your jobless and you find a job. im not being nosey and asking your income, i just wanted to throw that out there, it helps out sometimes.

wow sounds like she's led a good life. Mine has 220k on it, so I guess I can have good expectations. Althuogh at this point it would probably be worth getting rid of it, Junkyards would not pay more than a couple hundred bucks for it. But I get you can get about 600$+- for it private party, try putting her up on craigslist... or just continue driving her into the ground.
