ok i know you guys are gunna get on my *** hard for asking this, but check this out

it says the signal stays with in manufacturer specs so there is no way it can damage your engine. if its true, ill probly wanna pic one up. just looking for some opinions, ahha sorry!

Please don't do it. You'll fry the IAT (intake air temp) sensorthat you are supposed to hook it up to. Then because it is a resistor in a box, it will a lower temperature reading than it should to the ECU, resulting in the ECU sending in response a signal to the fuel sending system. That singal will send MORE fuel than is needed, thus some the extra fuel does not combust and gets sent out via the exhaust. Since vehicle emissions is tested, we have catylatic converters. Well, the cat cannot handle the higher heat from trying to convert the gases and the extra fuel, thus burning out your cat.
How do I know this!??!...
...I F***in' did it. That was way been I even joined HCF. So, $70 IAT sensor and a $400 OEM cat + $15 POS resistor in a box. That was a stupid $485 lesson.
SO, hook it up, and let up know 4-5 months down the road went you fuel econo goes to crap, your exhaust smells like gas, and you feel like a douche!!!

What Danomatic said. It convinces the ECU that the air entering the engine is colder than it really is. This causes the ECU to inject more fuel. But that does not make the car noticebly faster, it just wastes gas and burns up the cat converter.
It's a two-cent resistor in a plastic box. A very durable plastic box though according to the description.

A guy i went to school with bought one for his 02 GMC Sierra and tried to sell it to me with the same spiel they spit out in the ad.
I asked him if it was so good, why was he selling it. his reply was that he needed the money for euro tails. I knew they were crap anyway, but i definitely knew after that. pure garbage!
