Your car is fine, at 16 you are still learning to drive, a faster car would be dangerous. learn how to drive and corner with the car you have now, then get a faster car. And As someone else said, feel lucky getting a car at 16, I did not get my own car till I was 18.

That's the point of buying an old civic. You buy it, mod it and then it is as fast or faster then a new car for less money (in a perfect world*). You don't HAVE to swap, there are other route to take it. And I think the 06+ Sis are quite sexy

i didnt get my car till i was 18 as well. i know you can make a d16 fast but its not a motor that will be reliable and last depending on driving habits. i already went through the whole dseries turboed phase.you blow headgaskets, you get oil leaks alot more and car overheats due to abuse and it becomes expensive with time and you have to pump premium fuel, who knows if the gas priced sky rocket up again. but if he mods it with I/H/E he will not be happy with the result from the upgrades as he would if he went F/I. i would rather he get another civic perferred hatchback eg or ek. my bseries swap didnt cost me no more than 700.00 thats because i built it from 20 different blown motors taht my friend had lying around. bought a vtec head for 300.00that had gsr cams and bought other little things like gaskets and seals and my type r pistons

i wouldnt get a dsm they will burn a hole in your pocket for stuff breaking just stick with honda they last longer. i mean mitsubishi makes nice looking cars my fav the evo but its expensive and only trust fund kids can afford it...lol. I mean if you want an eclipse or 3000 gt make sure you get the vr4 not the base model awd or the eclipse gsx awd ftw...
