What Octane fuel were you using when it back fired, what kind of spark plugs were you using, and what octane is in it right now.

was runnin 91 octane fuel and its still in ther... dont really wanna drive it till i get it fixed seeing as from the high idlin it smells kinda bad when its stopped...

checked all the hoses and vacuums, but woldnt that make my idle go lower??

and if i blew the welds on the intakes would it just take re welding to fix it??

Backfired?!

Probably fried the IAC, MAP, and TPS, or any combination there of.

I'd loosen your throttle cable, and try to lower your idle by repositioning it slightly. It's a ghetto fix, but it'll bring down your idle.

You can try adjusting the idle but if you have a vacuum leak then adjusting the idle might not fix it. I've written a couple times how to adjust the idle so search for it.

It was a joke man

With a loose hose or vac line your idle would surge, or go higher, not lower.

Are you losing any oil or coolant? Might be time for a compression/leakdown test

lol anyway just got back from chicago...

so im gonna re check all my lines and hoses and all that, if i cant find anything im gonna go buy a compression tester and test that and if i dont find anything im gonna take it to the shop and see what they can do.... the car runs fine and all just when im stopped i smell alot of extra burned gas... thinking thats from the idling...

not losing any oil or coolant so ill see what happens
