Imported Engines
I am the new owner of a 95 Civic LX with a bad motor. I have looked on the WEB and found imported engines from Japan as a replacement. I talking to the company the engines ar 1996 1.5 liters with an average of 40K miles. I will need to put my intake, Exhaust and Distributor on the newer engine. The company name is Japanese Engines in New Jersey. Should I go for it or stay away. All of the local salvage yards have engines but with 150k plus miles.
Any help/suggestion will be appreciated.

the engines are usually really good. i live in nj and didnt know there was a company here that imported them haha. when it gets to your house you just want to check all the connections/wires/ec/etc and make sure everything in intact, though if you have to put on your intake/dizzy/etc then i suppose it wouldnt come with anything else.
edit:
what engine code are you looking at? and a price?

well you dont need the engine to have the engine code... its probably something like d15b7, but that isnt from a 96. anything after 95 came with a 1.6 liter or bigger, i think. although if it is coming from japan perhaps it is the d15b
