Default Kinda ticked off...

So I found out why my brake lights stay on.

First for those for you who don't know. There is a switch for the brakes lights, a button if you will. When not pressed on the brake the button is being pressed to turn the lights off. When you press the brake you let up off the button to turn your brake lights on.

Now the real problem. When my brake isn't being pressed it isn't pressing the brake light switch. The other problem, I can't get to adjust it cause of the damn fuse box. I unlocked the bolts or whatever on the fuse box, BUT NO NOW THE WIRES KEEP ME FROM GETTING TO IT. >

Any advice? Besides taking it somewhere to have someone else do it cause it has worn out my happytime. Angertime is coming.

Start yanking wires, labeling them as you go.

No one said doing stuff yourself was easy.

It not that it not easy, I'm just like to do things to get them over with but with a new born baby and not having the time to do so and wanting to drive my civic again is ticking me off, haha. I will get to it soon I guess my viper alarm also doesn't sound anymore since I took out the driver seat, weird.

What year is your car....?
Replacing the switch on the brake pedal is not that tough.
(the fuse box should NOT keep you from it)

There's a rubber stopper that pushes on the button. It's attached to a metal tab on the pedal arm. Over time, they get hard and eventually break.

Is the stopper there? Or is there just a metal tab with a hole in it?

Yes probably just the rubber is gone like trustdestruction said. Working under the dash is never fun.
