im no noob to the FI game... im on my second boosted car, but I dont know about all that. You are beating mustangs yet you dont even have the boost controller yet? VTEC is nice but not that nice, my car has a different variation of it and its OK i guess. We can sit here and argue over a computer all night and not get anywhere so i'll end it I guess...

What are you running in the 1/4? Is your ride an Si or what? Im interested... honestly, not trying to be sarcastic.

I love all cars... Civics, Corollas, Mustangs, bla-bla

I was at clubcivic.com and reading some of their "kills". This kid claims to have "walked" a V8 mustang with his civic... stock with a b18 swap. They are pretty quick definately... but not V8 mustang quick. In his thread he says that he pretty much left him like he was standing still and all the others are like... yeah, they aint ****! I kill stanggs all the time, bla-bla.

I so hope you guys arent like that! GOD! There's no replacment for displacment is what it comes down to. I love this forum because everyone here is cool and honest, just looking for help or chattin with friends. There its like "**** this or **** that", I killed this puss-*** mustang or this puss-*** twin turbo Supra. I hate that Forum.

You guys rock!
wait wait... in your own signature you claim this: 98' Civic... b18 swap, Garrett turbo, etc. (12.8 sec. 1/4)

Yet you say B18 swapped civics aren't mustang V8 quick? Well, the fastest stock GT ever, being an 04 GT 5 speed ran a very... very... very... VERY... rare 13.9. They usually make 14-14.5s depending on driver and traction.

With your old swap you were hanging with even the best of the best Mustangs, the 03-04 SVT Cobra, best stock run I've ever seen from those is a 12.5.

GTs are quick, SVTs are fast... but they aren't unbeatable. Sure lots of Civic kids talk out of their ***, but I wouldn't put it past them with a swapped/built/turbocharged motor.

I agree it is not easy or cheap to beat the big engines, but it can be done and is done all the time.

I just get mad when I see There is no replacement for displacement, because there obviously is, that makes me as mad as when I hear your engine needs backpresure.
Well, I'm all for small motors gonig faster... but to get serious at the drag strip you're going to have a better chance with more cubes. and yes, your small *** little Civic motor needs backpressure to make the most of it's potential.

cmon guys, no one can ever explain why they need it, yet i posted that writeup a long time ago about why thats not true. its not the backpressure loss that hurts power, its the loss of exhaust velocity.
