Default Looking at buying a (Canadian) 98 Civic EX seden

I'm looking at buying a 98 EX 5 speed sedan that's for sale locally. $1500 OBO, it needs an upper control arm, axle shaft and a wheel bearing. It has 361000 kms (224300 miles), has working A/C, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, 2 real good winter tires on the front and an in-dash cd changer. I was thinking of offering $1200 for it. When I test drove it, the bad wheel bearing was real obvious, quite a loud road and the left-side outer CV joint was clicking on sharp turns. The Check Engine light and the SRS light is on in the dash. Would it be worth $1200? What engine does this have? Would it be the D16Y7 or Y8?

Check engine light?

You might want to know what code it's popping up before you buy, so you can troubleshoot alittle.

The CEL doesn't really bother me too much, it can't be too serious if it's not blinking, right? The SRS light does concern me a bit though. I suppose I could use those 2 things are bargaining leverage.

So I bought it today. Turns out it's an EX-G model. What's an EX-G? I can't seem to find too much info about it. The trouble codes that it had were for o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction, catalyst efficiency below threshold, and 2 codes (both identical) for evap system leak. I cleared the codes with my Innova code reader then started the car again. The o2 sensor heater circuit code comes up almost right away.

I am planning to buy a single owner 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan from a private party. The car has 72500 miles on it, but its clean one owner car. The tires are 2 years old and might need to be changed. We have kinda settled on 10300 as the price now. Is it a good deal?
