Ls/Vtec Build
#11
Do you have any information as to why they are not the same, or are you going to just say I am wrong and not give reason?
Bigger pistons, thinner walls is all I can come up with. Both B series, both can be mated to a B series head, and b series transmission, any B series half shaft and B series uses the same mounts (with exception the rear T bracket, and driver side post)

I would like to see how th H23 responds to boost. I have heard that boost is not good on H motors due to the FRM liners in the block destroying the piston rings. Of course, that is debatable since a lot of the reliability in this type of stuff is in the tune.
You can boost a vtec motor, a handful of people have this superstition that you shouldn't for some reason. I suggest not to boost the B20 since it is the same block as a B18, but with thinner piston walls. The thinner walls causes the build to fail unless the motor was sleeved of course.

B20 and B18B cams are the same! Exact same.
B20 intake cam has a little less lift then B18B.
B20s dont have oil squirters...neither do B18Bs
B20s dont have block girdles...neither do B18Bs.
The B20B does NOT have a compression of 8.8:1...the compression is 9.2:1
B20B uses a GSR(P72) oil pump...B18B uses a B18B(P75) oil pump.
B20has a knock sensor...B18B does not.
B20B does not have "sleeves" like teh B18B
The "sleeves" are all one piece made of some fiber reinforced stuff.
to make it easier for you b20 blocks are built for some good power but no to last b18 can take more of a beating...... thats what i kno ****ing with hondas for 6 years...

the b20 in question is just a bored out b18, if it is from the CRV. what else did the real b20 come in?
knock sensor is dependant upon obd.
different oil pump means naught for the physical block.
they quit using the b20 in crv's once they implemented the k series.
but that's just my basic understanding.

like i said ive heard didnt quote it....
well since u seem like you kno your stuff unless u look up your answers on the internet... they made three diffrent motors for the crv (over the past years) do you kno the size on the blocks or the specs???? because all u keep saying its a bored out b18 when i still don see how they will match i have my money on the bored b18 that will take a b20....... remeber were talking about the block (stock).......
