another thing, when its raining(I do this, I do not know about anyone else) but I would shift at lower rpms, because from my experiences, If I do not, then my car will slip around a little bit, and thats even with about 80% tred.

o ya Ebrake is your friend on inclines!
i probably burned off quite a bit of clutch off with my using the clutch to hold the car up at the incline newbie mistake on my part.... till my dad drove with me one day and said im burnen up the clutch doing that and to just use the ebrake, then let the clutch out in 1st slowely and once ya feel it start to pull the car then remove the ebrake. worked a WHOLE LOT EASIER! LMFAO

i just hope i can still drive a manual decently when i get my 94 out.LOL i think it has a short shifter tho im not sure.... cannt drive it till i get a new motor for it.LOL

oh, and one more thing. When you aren't shifting, take your left foot right off the clutch pedal. Resting your foot on the clutch while you are driving (even if it's barely touching) WILL burn your pressure plate out faster than anything else. Just a habit that is best learned right from the begining.

see, i learned to drive a stick in an'87 ford pickup. on that thing the e-brake was basically a 4th pedal left of the clutch. useless for starting on inclines. so instead i had to learn how to switch from the normal brake to the gas very quickly. took a good bit of practice, but it works.
