Nope - normal, glossy silver metallic. Modern clearcoats are getting much better, and usually it's an older clearcoat that oxidizes. You know your silver is oxidized when it starts to look matte. FWIW, I've heard that if you get one of the new matte finishes that BMW is putting on the M3, there's a whole chapter on paint care in the owner's manual. Supposedly, the first sentence is something like, "Don't ever wax this car."
But yes, silvers and reds are notorious, but a lot of cars that are 15 years or older are starting to oxidize from not being cared for. I guess the paint technology is better because back then, I used to see it on cars that were just a few years old.
