Minor Hood Bend

Minor Hood Bend
So, I was helping a guy outside my work today jump start his car, my jump cables were really short so I had to get really close to his car. I popped my hood open and put in the on the hood rest but the cables still wouldn't reach so I pulled forward a little bit. So he tried to close my hood so I could see, but his car has the gas assist piston things so he was use to just pushing with a little force and the hood going down, but mine isn't gas assisted, it's just a latch, so when he pushed it down he realized that it wasn't and it bent and broke the cheap hood rest thing (not a problem can probably get one cheap plus he gave me like $25 for my trouble), but when he had pushed the hood down part way, the pressure from that rest push on the hood and warped it a tiny bit (no paint damage or anything) so when I close it on the drivers side it sticks up a tiny bit farther near the back. He realized this and so he gave me his number and address and everything just in case any repairs need to be made. My question is, what do you think I should do. I mean it was an honest mistake, but is this something that would be easy to fix myself, or what do you recommend? Advice please...

RE: Minor Hood Bend
i bed you might be able to bend it back into place, wont be perfect but could work fine, i know at auto body shops if door lines dont line up useing the dollar bill trick (you should be able to shut a dollar bill in a door and be able to slide it out with some snugness but not tight) they just put the door against their leg and bend it to get it to fit and try the trick again but for you i would ask a local shop what can be done.

ya guy that bought my 94civic his dad tried closing the hood with the hood prop inplace which bent it pretty bad. i simply just closed the hood and pressed down really hard on that hood prop side back hinge and it bent it pretty close. not a huge deal.
kinda why im glad i have gas shocks on my 99 now.LOL no more hood prop issues from other people!

My old civic had the same thing happen to it. We noticed it when we were looking at it to buy it. We were like, so, it's been in a wreck? and he's like no, i tried to close the hood with the hood prop up.

someone did that to my car before i bought it. if you just push down on the hood where the bend is it should go back in place. i did it to mine and it worked fine, but the paint is cracked on mine where they really bent it.

Same thing happened to me.
DON'T TRY TO BEND IT BACK, it just gets worse. Haha. I kinked mine. Or just be cautious about it.
I see a CF hood in your future.
The new latch you can get from a Honda dealership for a few bucks.
