My first car 1995 civic lsi eg4
Hi folks, got my first car the other week, and after much research decided to go for a honda civic lsi eg4. It's a 1995 m reg, no mods, 2 pevious elderly owners with 100k on the clock, it's got some rust on the door panel and some on the rear arch, new tires, cambelt changed, 6 moths tax and 12 months MOT.
I have a few questions and it would be muchos appreciated if you could give me some answers. Ok so here goes.
How car I remove the annoying radio antenna?
Is there any way I can remove the rust without getting a full respray?
What alloys look good on eg's in your opinion? and what style do you think would suit a silver colour car?
How do a lower the car like what do I need to buy?
What general upgrades do you think I should be looking at exterior and interior? I definately don't won't to go overboard on the exterior and have what's refered to as a "ricer" or a "chavmobile" lol.
And just any general comments or advice would be cool aswell.
Thanks and here's some pics

RE: My first car 1995 civic lsi eg4
That looks like some weird after market antenna. On my 95 LX the antenna was retractable. It was located right above the driver's side door.
As for the rust you would want to sand and then repaint the rusted areas. There really isn't another way to remove rust. There is something called navel jelly which is basically phosphoric acid which eats away at the metal. I've never used it on a car, but it works great on wrenches
As for lowering your car check the Suspension, Brakes, Tires & Wheels thread, it has everything you need to know about suspension.
As for mods, I think you should do a full round of maintainance first if your a DIY kinda person. When I got my 99 Civic this is what I did to it:
Valve adjustment
New spark plugs
Checked belts
Adjusted my clutch petal
Oil + filter change
Transmission oil change
Radiator flush
Bleed and flush brake fluid
Clutch fluid flush
Engine degrease/clean/detail
New air filter
Throttle body disassembled and cleaned
Interior carpets/seats steam cleaned
Tires rotated tire pressure adjust
Wash/Wax/Detail
After all that then I would start thinking about mods.
