Default My First Civic

ok so i am i am new to the forum and new imports in general. well i bought a 1995 Honda civic EX coupe about two months ago from a guy i work with for 900 bucks. it has the 1.6L with around 150,000 and a 5 speed trans. car is pretty much fully loaded sunroof and all power. It had a new trans, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and throw out bearing installed by a local honda dealer about a year ago. then right before i bought the car it got a new timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires.

the car does have some body damage and needs some work. the gauge cluster has gone bad the speedometer/odometer doesn't work any more.(idk why the speed sensor has been replaced) also has a burnt power window motor on the passengers side. the main thing is that is has some valve train noise that i am not too sure about have never ripped into a Honda motor before. so was wondering if you guys had any idea what it could be. i will try and post a video of the noise it makes as soon as i can.

also wanted to know if i got a good deal on the car. never messed with hondas before. i am not looking to really mod the car just looking for a good car to drive to school and to work and to save gas. so what do you guys think?

Looks good for $900. A valve adjustment should quiet down the valve noise.

^ says "my other car is a corvette" lol

I say its a good buy for $900 specially since all that stuff has been replaced im surprised he doesnt/didnt want more! and i agree with TheJGB3, a valve reajustment should help a lot. If that doesnt help then take it to have a mechanic listen (a reliable, nice one). Might not even charge u anythin if ur lucky

Definitely a nice buy for 900 bucks! It's good that it doesn't have any of the dreaded Honda cancer around the rear quarters, a lot of cars with that body-style have that problem. Overall yours looks pretty clean. Congrats on your first Civic; they're a lot of fun, aren't they?

Definately a nice ride for $900! Pull the dents out, fix the noise and the window motor, and lower it a wee bit, and it will be a sick ride.

I think the black tail's look nice! I would black out the reverse lights though, too.

Mehh I just don't like the black on teal... That's why I also don't have my windows tinted...
Just my opinion to each his own
