Default need advice on ac

so my car does not currently have the ac compressor. i removed it from my engine because it was leaking from the bottom. but the car does have all the hoses and pipes for the ac. if i get a used compressor in working condition. do i need any other parts? i read somewhere that you have to replace "not sure the name" because there is some particles in this part and other stuff. can any one let me know what i need. the warm weather is coming.

Did you cap off the lines while they were disconnected? If not there is probably a bunch of water and dirt in the system.

The part that also needs to be replaced in either case is the receiver-drier, a canister like part mounted on the fender. It works like a filter for the system and also absorbs moisture.

Damnnnnn. I didn't cap them off. I just zip tied them as close to the condenser as I could. But I only been driving on it like that since I installed the new motor. Not sure how long that was. And can I find the reciever dyer at any auto parts store or is that only honda dealer/majestic honda.

Is my ac system screwed if I didn't cap off the hoses?

It's not good, because the PAG oil that circulates around the system will absorb moisture from the air and lose its lubricating properties. Ideally you should take the whole system apart and flush the oil out with solvent (creating another problem of getting the solvent out, especially out of the condenser with it's complex small passages). Then put in new oil just before closing it up.

The whole system as in pipes, condenser, getting a new receiver/drier? And how much of a pan Is this going to be. And do you thinks it would be too problematic to run it like that? And just change receiver drier?
