Need advice please, just bought a civic!
Okay I just bought a 1999 Honda Civic Si and its my first car (i'm 21)
I'm rather proud of it and would love some advice,
I understand I can't modify the motor so much because its a d16y8..
but I do want to get a Ractive™ Fireball Style Slant Cut Tip Muffler
and a nice cold air intake so it purrs nice hah
I find silver is okay but It just looks so damn plain.. any ideas.. I'm going to get rims for it but I don't know if 17's will fit on it.. and I have a bit of rust on the hood and a paint peeling off on a door.. how do I repair that? (what could I buy)
I want to also replace the "si" tag in the back and get a red "SiR" where could I get that tag? LOL!
Also want to change the lights in the back and front if possible to something cooler... where do I go for that?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as you guys know much about civics than I do..
One thing for sure I'm a PROUD owner of a civic now
I live in toronto canada if anyone knows where I could get the stated parts locally.
Heres some pics:

Yah don't buy the SiR tag. It's not cool to be a poser. Also do some research before you actually buy anything, you don't want to be buying that " cool " exhaust to found out after it's installed that it sounds like ****.
I have a progression page on my Canadian Si. Check it out if you're interested.

Welcome to the forums... I'm not even going to ask why you're permabanned from ebay lol
anyway, y8 parts are easy to find; look for parts for Can-spec Si's (obviously) or for US-spec EX's. The y8 is actually one of the best d-series motors for modding.
17's will fit, but I wouldn't recommend them; to get them to fit, you need to run 205/40-17 tires, which are terribly uncomfortable, and you'll probably run into rubbing problems if you lower the car (unless you manage to find some high-offset wheels). As far as "****ing up" the exterior, here's what I'd do:
-black 16" wheels
-lower the car 2.5"
-carbon fiber hood
-carbon fiber trunk lid
-carbon fiber Spoon OE front lip
-matte black painted roof
-OEM foglights
-Carbon fiber foglight covers
And please keep the stock taillights! 99-00 tails are a thing of beauty!
*edit: and look into twin-loop mufflers. They tend to have larger outlets (I believe something around 4"), but the way it's designed, the exhaust is routed through the muffler twice, reducing overall noise and keeping the exhaust from sounding too raspy. Also, make sure you get a cat-back, otherwise it's not doing much for performance; if you go with a twin-loop, just go to a muffler shop and have them bend you up a 2.5" cat-back.

Man thanks for the advice, my civic would look sick after all those body mods, but my **** it'll be expensive to do all that work.. I was looking at doing something more simple I'll keep all those suggestions tho if I ever get some extra money this summer.
So I should look at getting a twin-loop cat-back exhaust..
performance wise with a cold air intake you might get like 5hp right?
I also forgot to mention the sound system I installed in it this weekend.
1000w rms alpine amp
1000w rms alpine type x sub
2 forad capacitor
and JBL front speakers and JBL rear speakers
it sounds ****ing sweet at least hah
