RE: Need help
It depends on the money you have available. I have a y8 as well. I just got done doing ther mods in my sig. Makes the car pull harder in the higher RPM's. But a lot power lies in TURBO... yay! If you properly tune it as well. Good Luck

RE: Need help
ok i really do not want to spend alot ,maybe $1000. bucks. but your saying to startboost or start with handling?i'm building this for my 16 year old,and maybe my self too.new to the hondas so i'm clueless.what about 76mm bore with dome pistons and a cam. right now i'm pulling about 110whp.what i'm looking for is about 200whp.

RE: Need help
You're gonna need to start with suspension because it will not handle well with all that power. Also you'll need intake and exhaust... and header also (not header though if you're going the turbo route).
There's no way you're going to get 200whp on a d-series with $1000.
Closest thing I could think of for under $1000 is a 75 shot of nitrous (which should give you ~200hp at the crank), but that's realllllllllly pushing it on stock internals.

I dunno for an engine with that many miles... Maybe if you rebuild the gsr engine and do some internal work aswell (more aggresive cams, forged pistons, good rods) Then add on some bolt-ons, intake, header, and a good catback exhaust, you'll def get up to 200whp and prolly a little more. Stock gsr has 170hp not whp.

RE: Need help
You also could piece together a turbo setup for under $1000. Or search forum classifieds for used setups. I just bought one with practically everything for $700. You can safely turbo a d engine for 200whp especially since you just rebuilt it. Just get your ecu chipped or buy one prechipped and use a good standalone like crome or hondata to get your car dyno tuned. For more info check out the sections on the forum.
